I worked in a High School Honors English class today. I was a "shadow" substitute, there only because of beauracratic b.s.. The teacher Mrs. Boortz was excellent and the students were very creative. They gave presentations on Greek gods and goddesses, most of which were power point presentations. Those kids are so talented with power point!!! I was able to finish a few ATC's I had started previously. And I got paid!!!

I've been working on ATC's as I am involved in an interactive ATC show at Art From Scrap in Santa Barbara. The active traders in the group are each filling up a frame of our favorite cards as well as making a bunch of cards to trade with the viewers of the show. There are workshops set up for people to make cards to trade. It should be a lot of fun.

These cards I've posted here are all being sent out across the country to folks I am trading with online and won't be at the show. I really love making ATC's, but don't always have the time to make them.

Yantra Necklace and Pendants

Here is my face for the day. This is the back of the Yantra pendant.
Close-up of front- this is a Yantra, a symbol used for meditation. The Yoni is the upside down triangle which represents female creativity-"shakti"is its name in Hindi. The flower is the lotus which is symbolic of the simultaneity of life and death, the border represents the four directions or elements. The pendant is concave like a bowl, the female being the container of life.

Here are some mixed media cold connection jewelry I've been working on. It has been awhile since I took a class with Keith LoBeu from whom I learned etching. I need to refine my technique.

I was inspired to make these pieces from Stephanie Lee who had an article in Belle Amour about a year ago. I can't wait to get back to the studio so I can create more!!! I asked for a flex shaft for my b-day. Wouldn't it be nice.
