"Colette II and I"
Monoprints
5"x 9"
Colette II is the print made after spritzing the plate with water after pulling ColetteI. Monoprinting is a lot of fun, but it takes a lot of prints to make one good one. I didn't have much time to experiment as I was running late, but I like the soft quality of the skin and nose created by the water on ColetteII. The blog doesn't show it off well. I suggest monoprinting for anyone who is interested in learning about the subtleties of brush and color . These were done with water soluable printing inks on a acrylic plate. The paper I like the best is Japanese calligraphy paper. Low cost experimentation.
